It used to be very difficult to obtain building insurance for property that has previously been underpinned. This is no longer the case and we can offer competitive rates for previously underpinned property.
Some property has been underpinned as part of a major renovation or extension project to ensure the existing structure of the property remains solid. Other property may have been underpinned due to subsidence problems with the property caused by inadequate foundations, influences from trees or shrubs, faulty or broken drains, shrinkage of subsoil and other reasons.
Whatever the need for the underpinning, we can offer quotations to include cover to include the peril of subsidence, heave and landslip (subject to acceptance by the insurer). We will need to know the cost of the underpinning, the reason why the property has been underpinned and the date of the underpinning. If the property was affected by subsidence then we needs to know the date the subsidence was notified to the insurer. Approximate information is acceptable if precise information in unobtainable. Lastly, if you have copies of any supporting documentation relating to the work including surveyors report, details of any guarantee’s then this would be helpful.
