Data protection is something we take very seriously at Bickers Insurance. We are aware of and comply with our statutory obligations regarding data protection relating to all our clients.
Client information is confidential and is always strictly treated as such. Other than providing the insurer with the information they need to transact business or provide quotations, we will never release information or details about any of our policyholders to anybody else or any other company, organisation or third party. The only occasion time information may be passed on to others will be if we are directed to do so by law or for the purpose of providing insurance and handling claims, if any, which may necessitate providing such information to a third party such as Underwriters at Lloyds, their claims handling agents or an Independent Loss Adjusters working on behalf of the insurer for the purposes of settling your claim.
When we collect personal Information
We will collect personal information from you when you register for any online service that we provide or contact us by telephone for, quote requests, the purchase of insurance policies, requests to make amendments to policies or for the administration and handling of claims, if any.
Information requested by us from you will be limited to whatever is necessary to provide you with the service you require or have requested. We will never ask for information that is unnecessary or irrelevant to your needs and requirements.
If any of your personal information should change at any time, we would ask you to keep us informed so that our records may stay up to date.
How your personal information is stored
All personal information held by us about you is held securely on our remote servers which are securely backed up. Website information is held securely and cannot be accessed by third parties or individuals not part of our company.
Our telephone conversations may be recorded for monitoring and training purposes, all recorded telephone conversations are held on our remote servers and can only be accessed by senior members of our company.
How we use your personal information
We only ever use your personal information for providing quotes, for the purchase of insurance policies, for requests to make amendments to policies or for the administration and handling of claims, if any.
Your personal information will never be used for any other purpose unless you have asked us to do so.
Debit/Credit Card details
If you make a payment with your debit or credit card, the information you provide solely for this purpose will not be kept or held by us.
Payments made online are encrypted so as to prevent fraud and theft and are not stored by us afterwards.
As soon as any payment has been processed through our systems it is no longer available to be viewed by us.
How you can see the personal information we hold about you
You have the right to receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you at any time. You must make the request in writing and there is an administration charge of £10 for this service.
If you would like to receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you then please write to us requesting this information and enclosing your payment of £10 for the administration charge.
Your request will be dealt with within the regulatory period of 40 days.
Governing law and jurisdiction
Our privacy policy is governed by the law of England and Wales and is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Please note that we keep the content of our privacy policy under constant review and as such from time to time we may amend or update the content without informing you beforehand. The website will always display the current version of our privacy policy.
